More details on Matt Riddle’s new WWE contract

Back in December, it was reported that Matt Riddle had signed a contract extension with WWE.

Dave Meltzer first reported that Riddle was negotiating a new contract that would keep him under contract for several years. At the time, it was noted that Riddle had pretty much agreed to terms for a three-year deal at $400,000 per year guaranteed plus $50,000 for every show in Saudi Arabia.

It was later reported that Riddle was made an initial offer, but he didn’t seem interested in it. WWE came back with a better deal, which Riddle signed.

Bryan Alvarez recently noted on the Wrestling Observer Live that he had doubts Riddle signed the contract. However, Fightful Select doubled down on their report this week by noting that Riddle has signed the new deal.

Per the report, he is already under an entirely new contract rather than an extension to his current one. He signed his original contract with WWE in 2018 where he had a run in NXT. Riddle’s prior contract was set to expire in August 2021.

It was noted that this new contract will see him through to the end of 2023.
