Dave Meltzer had more info on the Batista situation on the latest Wrestling Observer radio show. Basically, Batista was promised some things that didn’t pan out. WWE felt that their hand was forced and they had to put the title on Daniel Bryan.
As noted before, WWE tried to talk him into working with Daniel Bryan at Payback and talks went as late as just a couple of hours before Extreme Rules. Judging by the finish of the 6 man tag match it looks like WWE wasn’t able to convince him since Batista took the pinfall in the match. A lot of people (not just Batista) in WWE are not happy right now and it’s mainly about the money they’re making. Batista has been telling people that he’s not really that thrilled with this run. The company was not happy with Batista changing their plans for the next pay-per-view.
Presumably, Batista will be back in a few months but it all depends on how Batista feels at that time. He is scheduled to be on Raw tonight.
If they can’t convince Batista to stay for the next pay per view then Kane vs Daniel Bryan in a buried alive match would be the main event.
