More information on Daniel Bryan’s status for WWE Crown Jewel

WWE’s Crown Jewel pay-per-view is this week, and the status of several top WWE stars is still unknown. Initially, 16-time World Champion John Cena was advertised to participate in the WWE World Cup tournament in Saudi Arabia. However, in light of the situation currently going on within the country, Dave Meltzer reports Cena has informed WWE he won’t be participating.

It’s rumored Bobby Lashley could serve as Cena’s replacement, despite reportedly working through an injury. The brackets for the WWE World Cup will be revealed on tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw, and tomorrow’s SmackDown Live. It’s possible Cena’s status is addressed on the program. As for Bryan, it was also reported that he is refusing to work the show as well.

Bryan is scheduled to face AJ Styles for the WWE Title at Crown Jewel. However, Meltzer reports that the current rumor is no announcement will be made on Bryan’s Crown Jewel status. It’s possible WWE could put together an angle before the show that would explain why Bryan doesn’t work Styles on Friday. Simply put, Bryan’s status for the show is still very much up in the air. His status should be a lot more evident closer to show time.
