As noted on Thursday, WWE will be presenting a special event titled WWE Smackville on July 27 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN.
It’s basically a live event with some of the matches airing on the WWE Network, similar to the farewell special for The Shield back in April. This is likely another test run as the company has been looking at doing Saturday night specials from live events when they introduce tiered plans for the WWE Network later this year.
More matches have been added to Smackville.
Here is what is currently advertised for the show:
WWE Championship – Triple Threat Match
Kofi Kingston (Champion) vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Samoa Joe
WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship – Triple Threat Match
Bayley (Champion) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss (w/ Nikki Cross)
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Shinsuke Nakamura (Champion) vs. Finn Balor
WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions Big E and Xavier Woods in action
A special musical performance by Elias.
Note that some matches may not air on the WWE Network special. WWE has only announced the WWE Championship, IC Championship and Elias performance for the live broadcast but that can always change.
