As noted last week, both AAA and TNA have expressed immediate interest in Alberto Del Rio (Alberto Rodriguez). People in AAA have publicly said that Rodriguez will be at TripleMania this Sunday on iPPV. It’s not a huge deal in the United States but it’s getting mainstream attention in Mexico and will probably hurt some of the pay-per-view buys for SummerSlam in Mexico.
AAA’s policy is not to sign former WWE talent for their new TV project but Rey Mysterio and Alberto Rodriguez would be the two exceptions. There’s no official word on the details of Rodriguez’ no compete but it’s believed that he has a 90 day no compete. It will be interesting to see what they do with him at TripleMania this Sunday.
Released wrestlers do have the option of declining their no compete but most of them don’t decline it because you get three months of contracted money while you sit out.
