As noted before, Dolph Ziggler stated in an interview on Monday that he has yet to sign his WWE deal. There was an incorrect report on PWInsider last week stating that he had signed a new deal weeks ago. Ziggler was offered a new contract a few weeks ago but he did not sign it and that started the speculation that he might leave the company. There was also speculation back in April based on some things he wrote on twitter. He indicated at the time that he had 5 months left on his deal.
It is believed that he’ll end up staying with WWE. He told The Boston Herald that he feels like WWE likes having him around and he loves working there and it would be hard for him to walk away. The following day he told the Chad Dukes Radio show that he was still thinking about things and that he made a counter offer to WWE’s offer and both sides are waiting to get things finalized. He said, “I love WWE and I can’t picture myself wrestling somewhere else, but it’s also becoming now where that Wednesday and Thursday, I can’t just do that and get some outside live events for comedy and different movie and television options which would only be to promote myself as a WWE superstar, to make myself a bigger star so I can advance more in WWE. So if I can’t find that happy medium, I might have to get away for a little bit. What I wanna do is make myself a bigger asset to WWE. it involves leaving, that would crush me, but it might.”
