As noted earlier, via a WWE announcement on their website, Eric Bischoff is no longer with the company. Dave Meltzer noted today that Bischoff’s firing from the company happened this morning and it was not a shock to people who were close to the situation.
Meltzer also noted that Bruce Prichard and Ed Koskey will be the main people in charge of Friday Night SmackDown going forward. Prichard had a hand in getting Bischoff hired.
Bischoff has not said much about his exit from the company but he did offer praise to Prichard and his team.
Here is what he said on Twitter:
“Bruce is a great producer, good friend and I am certain he is going to thrive in his position. He’s going to be working with a great team of the most dedicated and hard working people I have had the pleasure of working with and getting to know.”
