More on the botched finish on WWE Raw

As noted on Tuesday, there was a botched finish during the tag team match between The New Day and The Hurt Business on WWE Monday Night Raw.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson noted “a story making the rounds” about the legitimate ten count. The story was first reported by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live.

Johnson noted that the ten count happened because there has been a renewed push to enforce the rules as if they are legitimate.

There have been several instances of matches ending in similar circumstances this year. Basically, wrestlers are told that the referees are not expected to save them if they don’t kick out or get back into the ring when they are supposed to and referees are under pressure to count wrestlers out as if it was a shoot so if you don’t get back in the ring on time then the match is over.
