The reason why several people were released by WWE had nothing to do with the crowded roster.
Tye Dillinger’s release was granted because he asked for it and some people believe it was granted because he went public with it on Twitter. Others like Mike and Maria Kanellis and The Revival had their release requests denied. As noted earlier, Arn Anderson’s release came after an incident with Vince McMahon.
On Sunday’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that TJP’s release was for disciplinary issues.
It’s worth noting that TJP was likely shocked when he was told he would be let go because it was just a few days ago when he was asked by a fan about possibly jumping to All Elite Wrestling. TJP indicated that he wanted to stay with WWE. At times, he expressed frustration about his spot in the company and being so vocal about that, especially in public on social media, probably did not do him any favors.
We don’t know if there was a specific incident that led to WWE making the decision to release him but he recently shut down a rumor that suggested that it was because of a new tattoo he got. Click here for more on that.
