Ryan Satin noted that the people who tested positive were at the Performance Center this week and that includes in-ring talent.
It is not clear when they were tested for the virus or how many of them were wrestlers but Satin notes that there were at least three positive test results this week.
WWE plans on doing more testing before the next set of tapings. WWE is scheduled to tape SmackDown this Friday a few hours before the 8 pm broadcast on FOX.
As previously noted, everyone at the PC was tested last week after a developmental wrestler tested positive for the virus. That person’s name has not been released. For the first time since the pandemic, WWE allowed non-wrestlers, described by the company as “friends and family,” to attend shows at the PC for last week’s tapings.
All of this comes as Florida is seeing a record number of new cases being reported each day with 5,500 new cases being reported on Wednesday.
I was told last week that WWE still had hopes of running SummerSlam with fans in attendance in Boston but these positive tests will raise serious doubts on those plans.
