Mustafa Ali is the latest wrestler to ask for his release from WWE. He made the announcement on Twitter.
His statement reads:
“I have a message that is much bigger than my dreams in pro wrestling. Despite my best efforts, I will not be able to deliver this message while working with WWE.
Therefore, I am requesting my release from WWE.”
In October, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE doesn’t have long term plans for Ali and Mansoor. He stated, “Here’s the thing, they’re not gonna do anything with Ali,” Meltzer said. “That’s been decided for years. Mansoor, they are going to do angles twice a year leading up to Crown Jewel, and the rest of the time he’s just gonna float. That’s what they’re gonna do with Mansoor.”
The signs of unhappiness with his spot have been there. Ali expressed unhappiness about being left off the WrestleMania 37 card and last November, WWE scrapped a stroyline with Ali that was deemed to be too controversial.
