Mustafa Ali on presentation of Retribution: “No one gives a s*** about talent”

WWE wanted to change things up on television last year and decided to create the Retribution group. It’s a stable that consists of wrestlers brought up from NXT and now is led by Mustafa Ali.

The group started off with a big push, but has taken a back seat in regards to being one of the top priorities of Vince McMahon. WWE decided to give these NXT stars new names and put them under masks.

The group features T-Bar, Mace, Slapjack, and Reckoning. Mercedes Martinez was part of the group, but decided to leave in favor of an NXT return. She recently spoke about it the decision.

A fan asked Ali about this. According to him, those in WWE and fans don’t care about talent, but rather put a focus on names and looks. He wrote the following:

“Why? Because I wanted to prove that how you look and what your name is matters in this company and to “fans”. No one gives a shit about talent.”
