MVP details hectic backstage environment at RAW 25

WWE attempted to pull out all the stops for RAW 25 earlier this year. This included bringing back Superstars of WWE’s past to take part in the show. One of those stars is former United States Champion MVP. His role on the show was a reoccurring backstage segment in which he was one of a few Superstars playing poker with the APA.

MVP recently did an interview with WSVN-TV entertainment reporter Chris Van Vliet and offered some insight into the backstage environment at RAW 25. He first revealed that upon getting the call from Mark Carrano to be a part of RAW 25, he was not being told what he was going to be doing because WWE didn’t even know themselves at the time:

“I think I got a call from Mark Carrano,” MVP said. “He said, ‘are you interested?’ I said, ‘how much you paying, what am I doing?’ It was funny because I kept saying what am I doing? What am I doing? What am I doing? And in typical WWE fashion a lot of the time they have no idea.”

It’s now well known that RAW 25’s script needed to be rewritten due to Enzo Amore’s sexual assault allegations leading to his suspension that day. MVP detailed how hectic the backstage environment was, with doors flying open and closed all over the place, and his part of the show being rewritten from what was originally planned:

“When I was there I remember plenty of times literally doors are opening and they’re rewriting the script for TV. So it happens all the time. When I got there I found out what they initially had in mind they scrapped and I ended up doing something else completely and I ended up playing poker with the APA.

“I don’t even remember,” MVP replied when asked about the original plan for Raw 25. “Man I get a free trip to New York, a free payday to drink beer, sit in the back and play cards. Yeah, I’ll do that.”
