MVP On Why He Left WWE: The New Management Wasn’t For Me And I Ain’t For Him

MVP and Bobby Lashley opted not to renew their WWE contracts earlier this year, with their sights set on going to AEW. They have since reunited with Shelton Benjamin as the Hurt Syndicate in the rival promotion.

In 2023, there was talk of the Hurt Business getting back together before WWE released Benjamin in a wave of cuts that September. MVP has previously discussed how there were plans for the group to get back, but they were suddenly dropped, and he found out when he saw Lashley with the Street Profits on WWE TV.

MVP said that he felt that was professional. While speaking with the Drop The Heat podcast, MVP explained why he decided to leave WWE. He cited new management and not getting along with him, who is Triple H, as he has been in charge of WWE creative since the summer of 2022.

MVP stated, “I left the first time to go to Japan. This time, I didn’t want to re-sign and I let it be known that I wasn’t going to re-sign because the new management in place….anytime, I don’t care where you work, when new management comes in, it’s good for some people and not for other people. New people come in, old people go. So I just felt that it was definitely time to go because the new management just wasn’t for me, and I ain’t for him.”
