MVP gave his take on Triple H while comparing his experiences working for WWE and AEW. The manager of The Hurt Syndicate recently joined AEW alongside Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, reuniting the core of their popular WWE faction under a new banner.
Speaking to Q101, MVP expressed his gratitude to Tony Khan for allowing the group to reunite. He mentioned that the faction was broken up prematurely during their time in WWE and that they never received a clear reason for the decision.
“I’m grateful to Tony Khan for giving the Hurt Syndicate an opportunity to come across the street and finish our run, finish our story, because I don’t think there’s anybody that would disagree that the Hurt Business was disbanded way too soon,” MVP said. “And we were never given an actual explanation for why.”
When asked if Triple H ever provided an explanation for moving on from the group, MVP made his feelings about the WWE Chief Content Officer very clear. “Yeah, and f**k that guy too,” MVP said. “I’m absolutely not a fan.”
MVP went on to contrast the management styles of the two bosses. He described Khan as a collaborator who welcomes input from talent, whereas he painted Triple H as a “dictatorial” figure who allows very little creative freedom for most of the roster.
“He [Tony] has his vision that he wants, but he works with the talent and allows a lot more input from the talent into what creative path is going to happen,” MVP said. “Whereas the nose [Triple H], he’s a little bit more dictatorial—emphasis on d**k. It’s, ‘This is what we’re doing, this is how it’s going to be, and this is what I want.’ With Tony, he might say, ‘This is what I want,’ and you can say, ‘Okay, Tony, but what if we put this on it?’ And Tony invites that input. Whereas with that guy [Triple H], there’s only a handful of people I’d say are allowed to have that kind of input.”
MVP ended his comparison by stating that he believes Khan is simply a better person than Triple H, which makes for a superior working environment in AEW.
“You can debate whether that’s good or bad, but I think Tony—I’m just going to be blunt—I think Tony is just a better human being, a better person all around than this guy [Triple H],” MVP said. “So he’s definitely a better person to work for and a much better working environment.”
