MVP’s leg injury appears to be serious and will likely require time away from WWE

The news on MVP’s injury is worse than we thought.

While there was hope that it wasn’t too serious, it looks like he will need to take some time off for his recovery.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that MVP needed to be helped to the back when the cameras were not on him and, as many fans saw, he was on crutches when he appeared on Raw Talk. PWInsider reported today that MVP flew to Birmingham, Alabama to see a specialist. When wrestlers travel to see the specialist, it usually means that surgery is needed but that has not yet been confirmed by WWE.

Last night on Raw, MVP teamed up with Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander against Lucha House Party and Matt Riddle. MVP was pinned after taking a knee strike and floating bro from Riddle so the injury likely happened in the final moments of the match.

We’ll pass along more information when we hear more on MVP’s status.
