NBC Cancels ‘Young Rock’ After 3 Seasons

NBC revealed today that Young Rock will be among the shows not returning to their lineup this Fall.

The news was expected when NBC released their Fall line-up last month and Young Rock was not among the shows listed. At the time, the network had not made the decision on the future of the show.

Season 1 averaged more than 3 million viewers with a 0.62 demo. the show dipped in season 2 with 2.23 millin viewers and a 0.39 demo rating but the big drop happened when the show was moved to Friday night’s for season 3. Up against SmackDown, the show averaged 1.4 million viewers with an 0.25 rating.

The show focused on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s life growing up around the wrestling business and also focused on his mother Ata Johnson and his late father “Soul Man” Rocky Johnson. Last season, they focused heavily on The Rock’s beginnings in WWE and the Attitude Era.
