Nevada has issued an indoor mask mandate ahead of next month’s WWE SummerSlam in Las Vegas

WWE holds the SummerSlam pay-per-view event on Saturday, August 21 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada at Allegiant Stadium.

On Tuesday, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak announced an indoor mask mandate for 12 counties including Clark County which is where Allegiant Stadium is located. This is being done to reduce the number of COVID-19 infections.

According to Eater.com, a new report was released on Monday, July 26 that showed 1,124 new cases and 17 deaths all located in Clark County. The mandate starts at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 30.

On July 22, it was required that employees at businesses in Clark County wear a mask when working indoors whether they are vaccinated or not to try. This came after the state had dropped a previous mask mandate in May.

As it stands right now, it’s unclear how this will impact SummerSlam as Allegiant Stadium is an indoor domed facility.

WWE Raw Women’s Champion Nikki A.S.H vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley is the only match to be announced thus far for SummerSlam. WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. John Cena and WWE Champion Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg are the top two matches also expected to take place.
