Ronda Rousey is returning to WWE imminently as at least one WWE official flew to California to meet with the former Raw Women’s Champion last week and her stylist was booked to be at the Royal Rumble as well as Monday’s Raw.
Dave Meltzer reported on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio episode that Rousey’s return could be as soon as the Royal Rumble. It’s still unknown whether she will be in the Women’s Royal Rumble match or WWE will do an angle with her after the bout.
Meltzer stated that Rousey will be a regular on SmackDown going forward although she will appear on some Raw shows. It’s likely she will be on Monday’s episode. He did note that Rousey will not be wrestling Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania, but rather Becky Lynch.
Regarding Rousey’s contract, her deal is for one year. Although it’s unknown whether it’s a full-time deal, Meltzer said it’s more than just for the Royal Rumble and a WrestleMania match.
Rousey hasn’t wrestled since WrestleMania 35 as she took time off to start a family and gave birth to her first child in 2021.
