The upcoming changes to WWE Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown will include changes to the roster, announce teams and the overall look of the shows.
Wrestlevotes is reporting that this coming week’s episodes of Raw and SmackDown will be the final week with the current stage. Moving forward, Raw and SmackDown will have a new stage and new feel. All of this coincides with the “season premiere” of Monday Night Raw on 9/30 and the debut of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.
It had been expected that WWE would freshen up the look of the shows and the Wrestlevotes post confirms that.
We’ve talked about the other changes expected soon including the roster changes with plans to do a hard split so wrestlers will not be jumping back and forth between shows. The announce teams will also change with the current plan being Michael Cole and Corey Graves handling announcing duties on SmackDown and it is being rumored that Vic Joseph and Dio Maddin will handle announcing on Raw. That could change but that is the current plan.
Furthermore, Renee Young will host the new Fox Sports 1 studio show that begins in November and several people have been considered to be her co-host with Booker T being one of the leading candidates.
The first SmackDown on FOX will be huge. Click here for a potential spoiler on plans for the WWE Championship match between Kofi Kingston and Brock Lesnar.
