New match announced for tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown

WWE has announced a new match for tonight’s SmackDown as Kofi Kingston will battle Butch (Pete Dunne) in a singles bout. WWE confirmed the match booking in SmackDown’s preview article.

WWE previously announced one bout for the show – WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks and Naomi defending against Natalya and Shayna Baszler.

They also announced Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro appearing to confront The Bloodline, and demand that Roman Reigns allow SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos to compete in a title unification match. As previously reported, WWE doesn’t plan to unify the titles, but they do have plans for the two teams.

Omos vs. Bobby Lashley is the advertised dark match while other Raw stars advertised to appear include Drew McIntyre, Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, and Rhea Ripley.

New SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey is advertised to appear tonight following her big win to become champion over Charlotte Flair in an I Quit Match at WrestleMania Backlash. Flair is taking time off to get married to AEW’s Andrade El Idolo.

This will be the post-WrestleMania Backlash edition of WWE SmackDown on FOX from the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
