New match announced for Wednesday’s WWE NXT

WWE has added another match to the card for this week’s episode of NXT on the USA Network.

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar is set for non-title action as he’ll take on Tyler Breeze. WWE shot an angle last week on the show where Legado del Fantasma attacked Breezango in the parking lot and abducted Fandango.

The group brought Fandango to the ring just a few segments later. Escobar cut a promo about how Breezango disrespected and mocked lucha libre culture.

Although Breeze attempted to make a save for his tag team partner, he got laid out by Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde. The segment ended when  Escobar warned that this would be Isaiah “Swerve” Scott’s future if he speaks Escobar’s name again.

WWE has been building towards a championship match between Escobar and Scott although there’s still no word yet on whether WWE will book the bout on the NXT TakeOver: XXX card or save it for a later episode of NXT.

Also set for this show includes Karrion Kross vs. Danny Burch, Bronson Reed vs. Damian Priest, and a qualifying match between Kushida, Cameron Grimes, and an opponent who has yet to be announced.
