WWE has officially added a singles match involving a Hall of Famer to the card for tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. Rey Mysterio is set to step back into the ring for one-on-one competition against Judgment Day member JD McDonagh.
The company confirmed the news on its official website on Monday afternoon. “WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio takes on JD McDonagh, tonight at 8e/5p on Raw on Netflix,” the statement read. This bout marks a significant milestone for Mysterio, as it will be his first singles match since suffering a torn groin in April.
Mysterio made his initial return to action on last week’s broadcast, teaming with John Cena and Sheamus in a six-man tag team match. The trio secured a victory over McDonagh, Finn Balor, and Mysterio’s son, Dominik Mysterio.
Tonight’s show will emanate from the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In addition to the newly announced match, the episode will feature the quarterfinals of “The Last Time Is Now” tournament and an appearance by Roman Reigns to kick off the broadcast.
WWE Raw Lineup:

- Tournament Quarterfinal: Solo Sikoa vs. Penta

The winner of the “The Last Time Is Now” tournament will earn the right to face John Cena in his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington, D.C. While the Raw side of the bracket features Gunther vs. Hayes and Sikoa vs. Penta, the SmackDown side has seen some shake-ups due to Sheamus’s injury. Rusev is set to face Jey Uso, while LA Knight awaits a mystery opponent in the second round. The tournament finals are scheduled to take place on the December 8 episode of Raw.
