Kurt Angle has an exciting project as a new movie is being developed about him winning a gold medal in wrestling at the 1996 Olympics with a broken neck.
Angle has written about his Olympic glory in his book, and a Peacock documentary about it was released earlier this year. After his amateur career, Angle got into pro wrestling and had a Hall of Fame-worthy career.
Angle lost to Baron Corbin in his farewell match at the WrestleMania 35 pay-per-view event in East Rutherford, NJ, at MetLife Stadium. Angle has publicly talked about wanting John Cena to be his retirement opponent, but Vince McMahon insisted it be Corbin that year due to their storyline.
While appearing on WFAN with Danielle McCartan, Angle revealed that he has a movie about his run to win the gold medal. He made it clear that it’s not about his pro wrestling career. While a cast hasn’t been picked yet, the directors are Ian and Eshom Nelms.
He described it as having a Rocky-type feel with a little bit of ‘The Fighter’ and ‘Iron Claw’ mixed in.The former WWE Champion will appear at the Dream On event for GCW on November 23.
