Monday’s episode of Raw saw a few changes as Adnan Virk took over the role of the play-by-play commentator for the show from Tom Phillips, who had been doing since last year. Also, Corey Graves has been moved over from SmackDown to Raw as a color commentator.
It turns out that Virk has yet to meet WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon. He shared the news in the final segment on the “Boomer In The Morning” radio show.
He didn’t meet McMahon during WrestleMania weekend or Monday when he made his debut for the flagship show of the company. He explained that McMahon wasn’t there during his audition back in February. However, WWE President Nick Khan and SmackDown commentator Michael Cole both vouched for him as the group watched audition tapes.
Virk stated that McMahon didn’t have any idea who he was going into the audition, but that didn’t stop him from liking Virk’s voice and presentation. Thus, the WWE boss went with Khan and Cole’s recommendation.
Virk added that when he does meet with McMahon that he wants to talk about Demolition, which is a joke.
Virk did have to get permission from MLB Network for him to work for WWE after he was contacted last year by WWE. He had his audition in early February.
You can listen to the entire interview here (Virk talking about WWE starts around the two-hour mark).
