WWE started having Randy Orton and Matt Riddle interact on Monday Night Raw beginning on the April 19th edition of the show where “The Viper” dropped a loss to Riddle in a singles match.
This was the show where WWE had advertised for over a week the first-ever singles match between Orton and Braun Strowman, but plans changed. Since that time, the two stars have done backstage segments as well as ripped off two straight wins as a tag team.
Two weeks ago, they beat Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin and then this past Monday, they beat Elias & Jaxson Ryker.
Pwinsider.com reports this “alliance is going to be getting a sizable push going forward as the plan is to keep the unlikely duo together going forward.”
It was added that this isn’t planned to be a short-term deal, but rather WWE is planning to have them together for a while as the company will be releasing merchandise for the RK-Bro team shortly.
Riddle was originally slated to retain the United States Title against Sheamus at WrestleMania 37 and continue the feud. Also, Orton was supposed to have a short-term feud with Riddle then move onto feuding with Strowman. All of this was changed by Vince McMahon.
