Alberto Del Rio made headlines earlier this week when he claimed that he’s has been in talks with WWE and believes that a deal can be reached for him to return in mid-2020
This caught many fans off guard as up to this point, there hadn’t been any reports or rumors regarding this possibility.
Alex McCarthy of TalkSport.com recently tweeted an update on what he’s heard about Del Rio and WWE.
“I’m told he [Triple H] absolutely didn’t reach out to Del Rio for what that’s worth. Nor did anyone.”
Another update came from Fightful Select in a report where one source told them that it was outright “bullsh*t!”
Another source went back to a previous statement about how Paige is “more valuable to have around than anything he could do” and the company doesn’t want to risk making her uncomfortable by having him around due to their past relationship.
Over the years, Del Rio has said some negative things about Triple H and Vince McMahon on social media. However, Del Rio has since apologized and this was something that he touched on in the interview.
Del Rio was last seen in a high profile match when he fought former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz.
Ortiz beat the former WWE Champion by first-round rear-naked choke submission under the Combate Americas banner.
