If the Crown Jewel show in Saudi Arabia goes on as scheduled, then Glenn “Kane” Jacobs still plans on being there.
Jacobs’ spokesperson told the Knoxville News Sentinel that Jacobs still plans to wrestle in Saudi Arabia. “Mayor Jacobs won’t speculate on Mr. [Jamal] Khashoggi’s disappearance,” Link said. “However, he and his family are in the mayor’s thoughts and prayers.”
Several senators have called on WWE to rethink their plans for the show and their long-term business relationship with Saudi Arabia.
The Turkish government reportedly has video and audio proof that show that the Saudi’s killed Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Turkey. Saudi officials are denying the allegations.
WWE has said that they are monitoring the situation so the show is still on for now but the pressure is coming from all directions. As noted earlier, Bryan Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Live that the majority of the wrestlers booked for Crown Jewel would rather not fly out to Saudi Arabia.
