The belief is that one of the main events that have been talked about, Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reings for the WWE title, is still on the plans for WrestleMania 31. Right now it’s not clear if they are grooming Rusev for a match with Cena but that has also been talked about. Right now with Roman Reigns on the shelf due to injury it’s hard to tell if Roman will be hot going into WrestleMania or if the company decides to go with Dean Ambrose instead. The direction for Daniel Bryan is also unknown at this time.
Lesnar is scheduled to be on TV in January to build for his next match. The match will likely be a title defense against John Cena at the Royal Rumble. If WWE decides to have Rusev challenge Cena at WrestleMania then it would make the most sense to have him (or whoever will be Cena’s opponent at Mania) cost Cena the match against Lesnar at the Rumble.
Since Lesnar is not scheduled to be back until January, that means that there will be three pay-per-views without a WWE Championship match. Those three shows are Hell in a Cell, Survivor Series, and the TLC: Tables Ladders and Chairs show in December.
