They reached an out of court settlement. WWE typically does not like to settle with people and would rather fight in court but they were very concerned with this situation and they had no choice because there could be too much potential negative backlash if this went to court.
Alberto got almost everything he wanted out of the settlement. The only thing he wanted but didn’t get was a public apology. While we don’t know this for sure, presumably the company apologized to him privately. WWE did not want to come off like a company that was insensitive to racial issues so that’s why Alberto got what he wanted.
He got a full release, the money owed to him, and he can now wrestle anywhere he wants.
