News on when Davey Boy Smith Jr. signed with WWE

Davey Boy Smith Jr. is back with WWE as he worked a match before Friday’s episode of SmackDown went live on FOX from Houston, Texas at the Toyota Center.

Smith teamed with Austin Theory to beat Odyssey Jones and Xyon Quinn in a tag team bout.  PWinsider.com provided some additional details on how his return came about.

Per the report, Smith was signed as early as this past March. The news wasn’t announced because the two sides wanted to keep the signing quiet until the timing was right for him to officially return to the company.

His first run with the company came from 2006-2011 and then went to work for various promotions such as NJPW and MLW.  During that time, he found success with Tyson Kidd where they held the Tag Team Titles.

While away from WWE, he worked all over the world including MLW, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and All Japan Pro Wrestling.
