WWE relaunched the NXT brand with a new format, name, stage, look, and pushed new talent.
Dave Meltzer noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon and Bruce Prichard were not backstage at the show. Shawn Michaels was running the show backstage as Triple H wasn’t there due to his recent medical situation.
“Shawn Michaels was the guy running the show because Triple H obviously is still not back, probably won’t be back for a while. Shawn was running it, and Kevin Dunn was there. No Vince [McMahon], no [Bruce]Prichard, although Prichard had gone down recently.”
Meltzer added, “But Vince did review the script of the show. He was involved in the creative of this show, but not there, and he was not the key guy or anything like that. And whether that will be the case going forward I doubt. I think it will be his toy until he gets tired of it.”
WWE NXT 2.0 ratings were up this week as it featured a big title match and a wedding segment. Before the relaunch, ratings were mostly down since moving to Tuesday nights.
