News on who will induct Davey Boy Smith into WWE Hall Of Fame

According to the internal line-up given out to people in WWE, Bret “The Hitman” Hart is being flown out for the WWE Hall Of Fame and he will be inducting “British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith.

Davey Boy Smith, Jr. will be giving a speech on behalf of his father. Several other Hart family members will be in attendance for the ceremony.

As noted earlier, several people in WWE were pushing for Davey Boy to be inducted this year and members of the Hart family have also been pushing for his induction. I’m told that there was no consideration given to inducting Davey Boy with the late Dynamite Kid, who teamed with Davey Boy for most of the 1980s as part of the British Bulldogs tag team.

The names announced so far for this year are the NWO, Dave Bautista and The Bella Twins. Jushin Liger is also being inducted this year but he has not been announced yet. John “Bradshaw” Layfield has been rumored but, as Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he is not confirmed yet.

The WWE Hall Of Fame will air live on the WWE Network on Thursday, April 2nd and that event will kick off WrestleMania weekend.
