The NXT expansion that has been talked about for the past year or so seems to be in full swing.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that they are working very hard right now on those expansion plans and an announcement could be coming as soon as this weekend at the Liverpool TV tapings.
There are plans to open Performance Centers around the world, including the UK and Saudi Arabia, with the long-term goal of running regional promotions. Other countries in the plans include Japan, Germany, South America, and Australia.
If you are a fan of the NXT UK product then you will be happy to hear that there are plans for NXT UK Takeover specials in 2019 and the frequency of those shows will depend on how well they are received.
Last week during the Takeover: WarGames II media conference call, Triple H talked about expanding and said that with so much talent under contract, he is not necessarily looking at NXT as a developmental brand and it’s become its own touring company. There could be scenarios where certain NXT stars don’t move up to the main roster. He also left the possibility open for underutilized main roster stars to move back to NXT.
