Although advertised to work, Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax ended up missing Sunday’s WWE Clash of Champions pay-per-view event.
They were scheduled to defend their Women’s Tag Team Championships against Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott at the show. However, after reports of the match being off, WWE confirmed the news late Sunday afternoon.
It was announced by WWE that they were not medically cleared to wrestle and the situation would be addressed on Monday’s episode of Raw.
Nikki Cross was also pulled from this show where she was supposed to challenge SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley for the title.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that at least one or two of the women were pulled because they were near someone who tested positive for the virus.
Jax and Baszler took to Twitter where they responded to fans about the situation:
Jax wrote, “Girl….I could not be better. I apologize that the announcement scared some, but all is great and healthy on my end & my tag partner’s end as well (not that I speak for her, but I kind of just did).”
1. It’s not.
2. She’s never gonna win anyway
