Former WWE Raw Women’s Champion Nia Jax had an incident that derailed one of the biggest planned matches of 2018. Then-SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was pulled from her scheduled champion vs. champion match against current WWE Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at the Survivor Series pay-per-view in November.
The reason for that was due to Lynch suffering a broken nose and concussion during the Raw invasion angle after getting punched out by Jax that saw Lynch suffer a “broken face” and concussion. Her replacement would be Charlotte Flair who ended up facing Rousey in a non-title match at Survivor Series.
While doing an interview with Bleacher Report, Jax reflected on what Flair told her that gave her encouragement about the negative situation.
“At the moment, I know it sucks. But look what it’s done for Becky. Look what it’s done for me. Look what it’s done for you as a heel. I didn’t really think of it that way when I was getting told to go die and never come out of my hole again,” she said. “Some of the tweets really were going off the rails. But when she put it in that perspective, I started to think about it differently. Now, it’s something that people will remember forever. It was crazy, but it turned into something pretty cool.”
