Nia Jax wants a former WWE Women’s Champion at Raw 25th anniversary show

Nia Jax is the Girl Whos’ Not Like Most Girls on WWE television but she’s not the first woman to dwarf her competition.

Bull Nakano is a legend in women’s wrestling and she’s a former WWE Women’s Champion. If you were a fan during the mind 90’s, then you’ll remember her matches with Alundra Blayze. There was a time when Bull Nakano was one of the only women WWE could call upon to wrestle though because she competed in a day and age well before the Women’s Revolution.

But as Nia Jax spoke to Sky Sports, she opened up about how much Nakano meant to her as a youngster watching pro wrestling and how ahead of her time Nakano was.

“Watching her back in the day, she [Nakano] is the definition of a badass woman,” Jax said. “If you look back at their wrestling matches they were revolutionary back then, they just didn’t get the spotlight that we do now.”

The Total Divas star also credit people like Bull Nakano for being there and paving the road which Nia walks on this very day.

“If it wasn’t for those women putting in the work and the time, and showing people what they can do then I don’t think we would have had the opportunities to show what we can do now.”

“They went insane. If you go back and watch that stuff, it’s so cool. I always study and watch them, it was super cool […] “If you look at what they were doing back then, you wouldn’t want to be on the end of one of those backfists or the way they hit each other.”

It sounds like if Bull Nakano existed in a different age, Nia Jax would have a great opponent. Not many people can take Jax to the brink, but Bull Nakano could probably do a fine job.

But the question remains of whether the 50-year-old Nakano will pop into Raw’s big 25th Year Anniversary on the 22nd and show Nia Jax what it’s like to be on the receiving end of one of those backfists.
