Nic Nemeth ‘Pissed Off’ That NXT Star Is TNA Champion

Speaking on TMZ Inside The Ring, former TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth voiced his intense displeasure with the current TNA World Championship situation, declaring that he is “pissed off” that the company’s top title is held by an NXT superstar. He vowed to personally reclaim the championship for TNA should their challenger fail at Bound For Glory.

Nemeth explained that his frustration began when then-champion Joe Hendry lost the title. “I’ve been pissed off since Joe Hendry thought he would just make the rounds and go everywhere and have fun exhibitions as the TNA champion, and then lost the title to an NXT talent who doesn’t even belong in our locker room,” he said. “So that part got me fired up.”

He then issued a warning ahead of the Bound For Glory main event, which will see TNA’s Mike Santana challenge the current champion, NXT’s Trick Williams. “If Santana can’t come through here, me and Ryan might have to take a little break as a tag team, and then I step in and take that title back, just for TNA, just so we have it,” Nemeth declared. “There’s something really disgusting about it… we really need to have a locker room leader who is the champion and full time at TNA. I’m very serious when I say how pissed off I am about this.”

His brother, Ryan Nemeth, added that the situation should be rectified by a TNA star winning a WWE title. “It might also be interesting if one of our guys wins an NXT title or WWE title,” he said. “If you’re looking at the balance of the world, that’s bound to happen sometime soon.”

The TNA World Championship match between Trick Williams and Mike Santana is set to headline the Bound For Glory pay-per-view on Sunday, October 12.
