WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella is back in the ring and in phenomenal shape, a transformation she playfully credits to the classic “revenge body” motivation. In a new interview, the former Divas Champion opened up about her intense new training regimen, the return to heavy lifting, and the workout playlist that gets her “fired up” in the gym.
Nikki has always been known for her incredible physique, but her recent return to WWE has showcased a new level of dedication and fitness. She is looking leaner and stronger than ever, a result of a renewed focus and the help of a personal trainer.
Speaking on the What’s Your Story With Stephanie McMahon podcast, Nikki was asked about the secret to her incredible shape. She laughed and pointed to her recent breakup [divorce from Artem Chigvintsev] as a key motivator before detailing the hard work she has been putting in.
“As we all hear breakup diets work real well for the revenge… I brought a personal trainer back in. I realized I’m very obsessed with pure bar and, like, workout classes and doing things on my own. But I was like, I need a trainer to really push me. And I feel like he’s been the reason why the abs are bulging, the muscles are bulging. He’s like, pushing my limits. We do it a few days a week… It’s wild to just be dead, lifting again, squatting, all of it. Oh, it feels so good.”
When it comes to her workout playlist, Nikki says she is a “90s baby” through and through. The sounds of old-school hip-hop and 90s classics are what fuel her intense training sessions.
“So I’m a ’90s baby, yeah? Like, so I hearing it now be called vintage and nostalgia… So, I mean, I love the 90s, and I’m kind of like, when I’m in the gym, to hear like, the new like, or now it’s old school, old school hip hop, that gets me going. I don’t say rock and roll gets me going. But anything from the 90s, early, 2000s I get fired up.”
