Nikki Bella reveals doctors have put her on “the retired bench for life”

The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie Bella) have made it previously known they would like to return to in-ring action especially because they want to challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Just this past March there were rumors that they could make a return in the fall of this year, but it doesn't look like it's happening.

The Bella Twins recently appeared on the Sippin’ the Tea show with Ariane Andrew, formerly known as Cameron in WWE. During it, they were asked about a possible comeback. This is where Nikki noted that she is not medically cleared to wrestle by doctors due to her neck history.

Nikki stated, "I would love one day, like when Matteo's maybe three, and he knows it, to have my son be ringside while his mom kicks ass. That would be amazing to me, but like because he is my everything, I have to listen to the doctors and as of now, they've put me on the retired bench for life. So, it would take a lot of scans, x-rays, and all this different stuff for them to actually approve me to do a run and so that would be unlikely...that will be years down the road."

Brie noted that they’re in a different place in their lives right now. Even though pro wrestling will always be something they love, she can’t imagine taking a bump right now.

Back in May 2020, Nikki discussed her neck issues as she noted it started in 2015 when she was thrown into steel stairs during a match. At the time, she noted there was an extreme herniation that stopped spinal fluid from reaching her C6 and C7 vertebrae and a piece was about to push into her spinal cord.

Nikki ended up getting surgery in January 2016. She wrestled a few times after the surgery including her last televised match taking place at the Evolution pay-per-view in 2018.
