As noted, Nikki Bella, who has been out of action for several months after undergoing neck surgery, made her in-ring return at Sunday night’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Bella is now featured on the SmackDown Live brand.
Bella noted on her official Instagram account that she hid on a tour bus before making her WWE return at the event so no one could see her backstage. She posted this:
“This is me while I waited on a bus to surprise everyone, even my partners & opponents last night at SummerSlam. 7 months ago when I had surgery I hoped for that day to come but was told it wouldn’t. I prayed and trained so hard that it would. I just knew that I couldn’t have already had my ending in the ring. I just wouldn’t accept it. The @wwe universe keeps me alive. You give me energy that no one else can give me. You challenge me. You make me want to be better. It’s crazy what you do to me. And the welcome Brooklyn gave me made me hold in tears. I was just blown away. I’m excited to make magic happen at #smackdown I’m excited to be back! Im@excited to show everyone that the impossible is truly possible!
