As previously noted, Brie and Nikki Bella’s new book is out where books are sold. The book covers their life before wrestling and a lot of behind-the-scenes stories.
Nikki told a story about Tammy “Sunny” Sytch. A few years ago, Sunny said some derogatory things about Nikki’s weight in a Facebook post.
Nikki wrote, “When Brie and I made it to the main stage, she wrote a Facebook post about how she thought I was fat. She wrote: ‘There’s no excuse for any of those girls in their early 20s to get a little chubby. Wait until they hit 35 and everything slows the f–k down. Then what? They are getting paid to look a certain way.'”
Nikki revealed that Sunny later apologized when they met face to face. She wrote, “She felt terrible about it after, and when she was inducted into the hall of fame, she pulled me aside to apologize. She was clearly nervous to see me. But I don’t blame her, either, as it was emblematic of the culture.
Nikki talked about how wrestling is very body-oriented and people were hard on women who gained five pounds. She said that “they” would call women into the office to talk about it but that has changed now. The theme of some of the stories in the book seems to be that the backstage culture of WWE has changed for the better in recent years.
The book is available for purchase now on Amazon.com.
