Nikki Bella: ‘The Women’s Division Is Better Than The Men’s Division Overall’ In WWE

Nikki Bella has high praise for the current state of the WWE women’s division, going so far as to say it currently surpasses the men’s roster. The WWE Hall of Famer, who recently made her own return to the ring at the Royal Rumble, discussed the landscape of the company during an appearance on the IMPAULSIVE podcast.

Bella shared her belief that the opportunities now afforded to the female talent have created the “best ever” version of the division. Her comments come at a time when the women’s roster is arguably at its peak, with stars like Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, and Stephanie Vaquer holding championships and main-eventing major shows.

“The women’s division especially is incredible. I actually, no offense, think the women’s division is better than the men’s division overall,” Bella said. “I think for women, it’s the best ever because of the opportunities given.”

While she championed the women, Bella offered a critique regarding the men’s side of the roster. She noted a pressing need for WWE to focus on building new male stars, pointing out that a significant portion of the current top tier is nearing retirement age.

The recent Royal Rumble highlighted this changing of the guard, with AJ Styles losing a career-threatening match against Gunther. Bella cited Styles’ sudden departure and the absence of John Cena as stark reminders that the previous generation is stepping away, leaving a void that needs to be filled.

“I do think we need to build more stars overall in the WWE, especially for the men. Especially seeing how many are going to be retiring soon,” she explained. “Already to lose AJ Styles so quick, that was crazy sad. John [Cena] is gone. You look at some of the other top stars’ ages and you’re like, ‘Oh wow.'”
