As noted earlier, Toni Storm won her debut match on WWE Friday Night SmackDown but something that was noticed by fans was that Zelina Vega was treated like an afterthought.
It’s possible that there are plans for her later down the road but on this week’s show, she didn’t get an entrance. Instead, they announced her name while she was already in the ring after Storm made her way to the ring and Vega lost quickly in less than 2 minutes.
Since her return on the July 2nd episode of SmackDown, Vega has yet to win a match. She lost to Liv Morgan on the night of her return. She was part of the Money In The Bank ladder match that was won by Nikki A.S.H. and she lost to Storm in quick fashion on tonight’s show.
Vega was released last November and she later tweeted her support for unionization in wrestling. The pro-unionization tweets were later deleted and a deal was reached a couple of months ago for her to return. Her husband, former WWE star Aleister Black (now Malakai Black) was released after she signed her deal and he now works for AEW.
