Stephanie Vaquer and her real-life partner, NXT Superstar Myles Borne, shared a public exchange on Instagram celebrating her championship win and revealing new details about her recent struggles.
Borne posted a black and white photo of the couple, with Vaquer holding her newly won championship belt. In the caption, he wrote, “I’m so proud of you. You are so special and amazing in and out of the ring. Never doubted you for a moment, keep reaching for the stars mi amor. Congratulations mi campeona. I love you”.
In the comments section, Vaquer responded to Borne, crediting him for his support, particularly during a recent illness that kept her off WWE television in the weeks leading up to her title match.
“You are an amazing man who always takes care of me like no one else,” Vaquer wrote. “I love you, and this victory is also yours, not only because you took care of me during the three weeks before this match when I was very sick, but also because you’ve supported me every single day since the moment we met. I love you ❤️”.
The championship win at Wrestlepalooza, where she defeated IYO SKY for the vacant title, is the culmination of a rapid ascent for Vaquer on the WWE main roster. Since being called up from NXT, she earned her number one contender’s spot by winning a battle royal at the Evolution premium live event, and now holds one of the company’s top women’s championships.
Myles Borne is currently a featured performer on the NXT brand and formerly a member of the No Quarter Catch Crew faction. Borne, who has an amateur wrestling background, is a regular on weekly NXT television.
