NXT Takeover: Chicago championship match in jeopardy due to an apparent injury at a live event (updated)
Tommaso Ciampa appeared to have been injured during a tag team match featuring DIY against SAnitY in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
The injury occurred when he dove out of the ring and he instantly grabbed for his ankle. The referee put up the “X” and the match was immediately called off. Ciampa was said to have hobbled to the backstage area under his own power but fans at the show say that he was clearly in pain.
Hopefully, the injury is not as serious as it sounds. This puts the NXT Tag Team Championship Ladder match at Saturday’s NXT Takeover: Chicago in jeopardy. DIY was set to challenge to challenge The Authors of Pain for the titles.
We will pass along updates when we get them.
