NXT TakeOver not listed on WWE calendar

When it was first reported that WWE was going to be making changes to the NXT brand, there were a lot of questions that fans had. One of which was the future of WWE holding NXT TakeOver events going forward.

As noted, WWE has decided to not hold a TLC pay-per-view event in December this year. Instead, WWE is considering the Day 1 pay-per-view event in January to be the December PPV. This marks the first time since 1995 that the company won’t be presenting a live pay-per-view in the month of December.

PWinsider.com reports that WWE recently updated their production calendar after the decision to nix TLC was made, and there is currently no NXT TakeOver PPV listed internally for November or December. It’s still unclear whether WWE will hold another special sometime in 2022.

NXT TakeOver 36 was the last special to be held for the brand, which was headlined by Samoa Joe beating Karrion Kross for the NXT Title back in August. Here is the updated PPV schedule for the company:

Survivor Series: Sunday, November 21, 2021 – Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center
Day 1: Saturday, January 1, 2022 – Atlanta, Georgia at the State Farm Arena
Royal Rumble: Saturday, January 29, 2022 – St Louis, Missouri from The Dome at America’s Center
