Matt Riddle and Kassius Ohno trash talked each other during the Pre-Show.

Riddle was not scheduled for a match at Takeover but he walked out to the ring to kick off the show. Riddle said that they were scheduled to wrestle on Wednesday on NXT TV but he wants the match right now and said he could knock out Ohno in both rings. Ohno walked out to the ring. Challenge accepted.

Matt Riddle vs. Kassius Ohno

NXT Women's Championship - 2-out-of-3 falls match
Shayna Baszler vs. Kairi Sane

Sane got off to a fast start and got in a bunch of offense during the opening minutes but things turned around when Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke appeared at ringside to attack Sane. Baszler was able to get Sane to tap and she won the first fall. Fans chanted "bullsh*t" which is unusual for a Takeover show. Sane won the second fall after hitting the insane elbow on the Horsewomen at ringside and another insane elbow on Baszler in the ring. The Horsewomen tried to get involved again but Dakota Kai ran down to try to even the odds but they were too much for her. Io Shirai ran down and hit a moonsault on everyone at ringside. Sane hit the insane elbow but Baszler rolled her up and pinned her.

Aleister Black vs. Johnny Gargano

This was an amazing match with tons of near falls, kicks, dives etc. It might be a match of the year contender. Black won after hitting the Black Mass twice on Gargano. Mauro Ranallo said that it looks like Black could be in line for an NXT Title shot.

NXT Championship
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Velveteen Dream

This was another crazy match. Things started slow but picked up during the second half of the match. There were a bunch of near falls. They also tumbled across one of the announcer's tables and then Ciampa got in Mauro Ranallo's face. That gave Dream enough time to take over on offense and he hit the diving elbow off the top but Ciampa kicked out. Dream crashed and burned on the exposed floor at ringside after the second elbow attempt. Ciampa finally got the win after hitting the DDT in between the rings on the steel. WarGames Match
The Undisputed Era vs. Pete Dunne, Ricochet, and War Raiders

Order of entry:
Adam Cole and Ricochet started the match
Kyle O'Reilly
Roderick Strong
Bobby Fish
Pete Dunne.

Fish attacked Dunne and locked him in the shark cage. This was probably done to protect Dunne, who is dealing with some sort of leg/foot injury. The referees were finally able to use bolt cutters to get Dunne out of the shark cage.

Dunne brought in tons of weapons including chains, tables, and kendo sticks. Insane match with insane spots. Dunne and Ricochet got the pin on Cole at the same time. They both posed at the top of the cage to close out the show.

Awesome show.
