The New York Police Department has charged 24-year-old Elisah Spencer with attempted assault and attempted violation of arts and cultural affairs (disrupting a live sporting event) for the attack on Seth Rollins during WWE Monday Night Raw at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Rollins was attacked as he was making his way back up the entranceway after his angle with Finn Balor. Immediately, several of the WWE staff and arena security swarmed the area to detain the attacker.
Police also say that Rollins had swelling in his lip but he refused medical treatment. Rollins was back out towards the end of the show because he’s involved in a storyline with Kevin Owens.
After the incident, WWE issued the following statement: “WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously. The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
The news of the charges and the name of the person charged were first reported by ESPN’s Marc Raimondi.
Per police, Rollins suffered swelling to his lip, but refused medical attention. More coming to @espn.
