Officials confirm body found in Venice Beach matches description of Shad Gaspard

On Wednesday morning, Los Angeles County Lifeguards confirmed that a body was found on Venice Beach near the location of where former WWE star Shad Gaspard was last seen on Sunday afternoon.

Officials have confirmed that the body matches the description of Gaspard. The body was first seen on the beach by a citizen who called cops around 1:30 AM and they arrived to identify the body.

The body washed ashore about halfway between Venice Beach pier and the lifeguard headquarters. It was noted that the body did not show any initial signs of foul play.

As noted, this tragic incident happened when Gaspard was with his 10-year-old son and a group of swimmers. Gaspard told rescuers to take his son right before he was hit with the riptide. Gaspard was declared missing by police after it happened.

On Monday, the U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search efforts for his body that lasted nearly 24-hours.
